As previously announced, the first CME products with three-byte clearing product codes will begin trading this Friday, September
23, 2005. This will mark the first time that CME has ever used a clearing product code larger than two bytes. Going forward,
most new products listed by CME will use three-byte clearing codes.
The new products being launched on Friday, September 23, 2005, are the Weather Strips (also called Mid-Season contracts) and
Frost Days futures and options. For information, please see New Contract Advisory NP05-13, here. Clearing Advisory 05-134, published on July 1, 2005 and available at http://www.cme.com/clearing/clr/clradv/13824.html, describes the impact on file and message formats of the new expanded clearing product codes.
